Advocacy for Quality of Care (QoC) in Maternal Health Services
Increased provision of maternal health services must be matched with improved quality of care to have an impact on maternal and perinatal mortality. WRAI is working towards raising the commitment of the public health system towards quality of care for maternal and newborn health. This initiative, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, supports WRAI members capacity building to advocate for improvement in health services for maternal and newborn health. Through a structured approach, this initiative uses evidence to ask for improvements in the key areas of human resource for health, infrastructure and allocation and utilization of funds.
Quality of Care has been the theme for our National Safe Motherhood Day Campaign from 2014 to 2016. In 2016 the occasion focused on Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) and endorsed the RMC Charter.
